Blue & Navy Kitchen Cabinets
Blue kitchen cabinets from pale blue-gray through mid blue to navy and indigo, in shaker, slim shaker and slab doors. Painted hardwood and matte melamine on all wood boxes, assembled or ready to assemble. One of the color families in our kitchen cabinets range.
Navy, indigo and blue-gray
Navy is the blue most people mean: dark enough to anchor a room, blue enough to read as a color next to black. Galaxy Blue from Fabuwood, Timeless Shaker Blue from TA Cabinetry, Concord Blue from GHI and Azul Marino on the Catalina and Tuscany melamine lines are navies. Indigo, Luna Indigo and Catalina Azul Indigo, is a step toward purple and reads richer under warm light. Blue-gray, Legend's Glacier on the Denali, Niagara, Rainier, Rushmore, Sierra and Teton paint lines, is the quiet option: a gray with enough blue in it to feel cool and coastal without committing to a color. If you are between blue-gray and gray, compare with gray cabinets.
Where blue works
Navy on an island or lower run under white uppers is the classic two-tone kitchen and the safest way to use it. A full-room navy kitchen needs good daylight and light countertops. Blue-gray can run through a whole kitchen the way a gray can. Blue next to stained wood, a navy island with oak or maple perimeter cabinets, is a strong pairing that warms the blue up.
Door styles and hardware
Most blue lines here are shaker frames; see the shaker collection to compare frame widths. Rushmore in Glacier and the Catalina darks give you blue slab doors for a modern kitchen, on the modern and slab page. Brass and champagne bronze are the standard pairing on navy; polished nickel keeps blue-gray cool and crisp. Both are in our cabinet hardware range.
Order a sample door first
Navy can go black in a dim room and indigo can go purple under warm bulbs. A sample door, next to the countertop you are considering, settles it.
