What is gel stain?

A thick stain that sits on the surface, so it colors evenly on blotchy woods and over existing finishes.

Wood filler or wood putty?

Filler hardens and sands, so it's best before finishing. Putty stays softer and is often used after finishing to hide nail holes.

What topcoat is most durable for cabinets?
