Wood Glue & Adhesives

Wood glue makes the strongest joint in most woodworking and cabinet projects, and the right adhesive depends on the job. CSH carries wood glue from CSH and Titebond, the FastCap 2P-10 fast-setting adhesive system, Jowat hot-melt adhesives for edgebanding machines, and dry powder glue.

Types of adhesive

Choosing a wood glue

Look at open time (how long you have to position the parts), water resistance (Type II for areas that may get wet) and whether you'll stain or sand the joint. Extended open-time glues give you more time on large glue-ups.

See all Titebond and FastCap products, or browse fasteners and dowels and biscuits.

Questions

What is the strongest wood glue?

For most wood joints a good PVA wood glue makes a joint stronger than the wood itself, as long as the joint fits well and is clamped.

Is wood glue waterproof?

Standard PVA glue is for indoor use. Type II glue is water-resistant; check each product for its rating.

How long does wood glue take to dry?

Clamp time is usually short, but full cure takes longer. Follow the time on the bottle before you stress the joint.
