A wood range hood gives the stove the same finish as your cabinets. The wood shell is the hood; inside it you add a liner (the metal insert that houses the fan) and a blower, which moves the air. Does a wood range hood come with a fan?

The wood hood is the shell. The liner and blower that do the venting are usually sold separately, so you can choose the size and airflow you need.

What is a range hood liner?

It's the metal insert that fits inside a wood hood, protects the wood from heat and grease, and holds the blower and filters.

What size range hood do I need?

Match the hood to the width of your cooktop or wider. Island hoods are typically wider than wall hoods because there's no wall to help catch smoke.
