Undermount Drawer Slides

Undermount drawer slides fasten under the drawer box instead of on its sides, so nothing shows when the drawer is open. Most of ours close softly and open to full extension. Use them for kitchen cabinets, vanities and furniture drawers.

Undermount slides we carry

  • Blum TANDEM Plus BLUMOTION: full-extension soft-close runners rated 100 lb. The 563H fits 1/2" to 5/8" drawer sides and the 563F fits 5/8" to 3/4" sides. Shop Blum TANDEM 563H.
  • Blum MOVENTO: runners for 1/2" to 5/8" drawer sides with four-dimensional adjustment and BLUMOTION. The 763 is rated 125 lb; the MOVENTO 769 heavy-duty runner is rated 170 lb.
  • CSH 39.3300: our soft-close undermount slide, full extension and rated 85 lb, with front clips and a back socket included.
  • Hettich, FGV and Soft Pro: Hettich Quadro V6 full-extension soft-close slides, FGV Excel soft-close undermount slides and the Soft Pro 6X with a 3-D locking device.

Will undermount slides fit my drawer?

Undermount slides need a drawer box built to the maker's spec. Check three things before you order:

  • Drawer side thickness. Most of our runners take 1/2" to 5/8" sides. For 3/4" sides, use a runner made for them, such as the Blum TANDEM 563F.
  • Drawer width. Blum MOVENTO needs an inside drawer width equal to the opening width minus 1-21/32" (42 mm).
  • The drawer back. Blum runners need a notch in the bottom of the drawer back: at least 1-3/8" (35 mm) for TANDEM and 1-15/16" (50 mm) for MOVENTO.

Pick the runner length that matches your drawer length. On Blum's chart, a 21" MOVENTO runner goes with a 21" drawer in a 24" deep cabinet.

Parts you may need

Undermount drawers clip onto their runners with locking devices or front clips. Blum TANDEM and MOVENTO locking devices are not interchangeable, so order the one made for your runner. Find them, plus rear sockets and TIP-ON BLUMOTION units, in drawer slide accessories.

How do you size a drawer box for undermount slides?

Start from the opening. For Blum MOVENTO, make the inside drawer width the opening width minus 1-21/32" (42 mm), build the drawer as long as the runner, and notch the drawer back for the runner.

Can I use undermount slides on face-frame cabinets?

Yes, in many cases. Blum MOVENTO runners work in frameless cabinets and in face-frame cabinets that are blocked out so the runner can mount flush with the frame.

Are undermount drawer slides soft-close?

Most are. Blum TANDEM Plus BLUMOTION and MOVENTO, Hettich Quadro V6, FGV Excel and our CSH 39.3300 slides all have soft-close built in. See all soft-close drawer slides.

How much weight can undermount slides hold?

Ours are rated from 85 lb (CSH 39.3300) to 170 lb (Blum MOVENTO 769). For heavier loads such as pantry or file drawers, look at heavy-duty side-mount drawer slides.
