Questions

What are bed rail brackets called?

You'll see them called bed rail brackets, bed rail fasteners, bed rail hardware, bed frame brackets, hook plates and bed fittings. They all do the same job: lock the side rail to the headboard or footboard post.

What's the difference between bed rail fasteners and a bed rail slot bracket?

Bed rail fasteners come in pairs, one piece on the rail and one on the post, that lock together and lift apart to take the bed down. A bed rail slot bracket mounts on the end of the rail and drops into a slot cut in the post.

Do I need to cut the bed rail or post?

For some hardware, yes. The bed rail slot bracket needs a 3/32" kerf in the rail (3-1/2" high x 1-1/8" deep) and in the post (5" high x 1-3/8" deep). The single bedlock plate needs a 3/8" groove in the post.

What size bed rail fasteners do I need?

Match the length and mounting style of the hardware you're replacing. Our heavy-duty bed rail fasteners are 4-15/16" long x 5/8" wide, the bed fitting set is 95mm (3-3/4") and the slot bracket is 3-1/2" high.

Are screws included?

Not with every item. Fasteners are sold separately for the standard bed bracket set and the dovetail slat bracket set, and the SS08 and FS07 hardware packs use a separate screw pack.
