Mixer & Appliance Lifts

A mixer lift, also called an appliance lift, stores a stand mixer or other heavy small appliance inside a base cabinet. When you need it, spring or gas-assisted arms lift the shelf up and out of the cabinet, so you don't have to carry a heavy appliance on and off the counter. When you're done, it lowers back inside the cabinet.

Rev-A-Shelf heavy duty mixer lifts

The Rev-A-Shelf heavy duty mixer lift holds up to 60 lb, with three spring tension settings, and mounts to the inside walls of a full-height base cabinet. You add your own shelf to match your countertop or cabinet interior. The soft-close mixer lift adds two dampers so the shelf glides back into the cabinet gently and quietly.

Mixer lift kits with the shelf included

Rather not make a shelf? The Rev-A-Shelf soft-close kits include a wood shelf: the mixer lift with maple shelf for 18" face frame base cabinets and the mixer lift with walnut shelf for 18" frameless, full-access base cabinets. Both hold up to 60 lb.

More appliance lifts

The Hardware Resources soft-close appliance lift is rated up to 45 lb with three spring settings, locks in place when fully raised, and works in face frame or frameless cabinets with a shelf you size from 12" to 24". The Knape & Vogt appliance lift raises on a gas cylinder, locks in place and is rated up to 30 lb, with a 13.5" maple wood platform and an accessory basket sold separately.

How to choose

  • Weight: check what your mixer weighs. Rev-A-Shelf lifts hold up to 60 lb, Hardware Resources 45 lb and Knape & Vogt 30 lb.
  • Cabinet: Rev-A-Shelf mechanisms need a full-height base cabinet 24" deep with an opening at least 12" wide.
  • Shelf: mechanism-only lifts need a shelf you supply; the Rev-A-Shelf kits include one.
  • Closing: soft-close models lower gently instead of dropping.

Questions

What is a mixer lift?

It's a set of lifting arms that mount inside a base cabinet and carry a shelf. Your mixer sits on the shelf inside the cabinet, and the arms raise it up and out when you want to use it.

What size cabinet do you need for a mixer lift?

Rev-A-Shelf heavy duty mixer lifts need a full-height base cabinet that's 24" deep, with a minimum opening of 12" wide and 24-1/2" high. The Rev-A-Shelf kits with a shelf are designed for 18" base cabinets.

How much weight can a mixer lift hold?

It depends on the model: up to 60 lb for Rev-A-Shelf, 45 lb for Hardware Resources and 30 lb for Knape & Vogt.

Do mixer lifts come with a shelf?

Most are sold as the mechanism only, so you can make a shelf that matches your cabinets. The Rev-A-Shelf maple and walnut kits include the shelf.

What's the difference between a mixer lift and an appliance lift?

Nothing. They're two names for the same hardware. People say mixer lift because a stand mixer is the most common appliance stored on one.
