Shop Cabinet Lazy Susans

Cabinet Lazy Susans

A cabinet lazy susan turns the hard-to-reach space in a corner cabinet into shelves that spin, so what's stored at the back comes around to the front. Shop lazy susans for corner base and wall cabinets from brands like Rev-A-Shelf, Knape & Vogt, Hardware Resources and Century Components, in polymer, wood and chrome wire, as single shelves or 2-, 3- and 5-shelf sets.

Choose the shape that fits your corner cabinet

  • Kidney: for corner cabinets with a hinged door. The shelves don't attach to the door. Shop the kidney lazy susan.
  • Pie-cut: the cabinet door mounts to the shelves and turns with them. Most pie-cut lazy susans go into new cabinets because the door is made for the unit. If your door is hinged, you most likely need a kidney shape instead. Shop the pie-cut lazy susan.
  • Full circle (full round): for diagonal corner cabinets. Shop the full circle lazy susan.
  • D-shape: also for diagonal corner cabinets. Single D-shape and kidney shelves turn on bearings with stops, so they come to rest where the door can close. Shop the D-shape lazy susan.
  • Half-moon: for blind corner base cabinets only. See the half-moon lazy susan and other blind corner organizers.

How to size a lazy susan

Measure the inside width, depth and height of the cabinet opening. Most base corner cabinets take up 33" or 36" of wall space, and wall corner cabinets usually take up 24" or 27". Rev-A-Shelf lists a minimum cabinet opening for each lazy susan, and the opening has to be at least as wide as the shelf diameter. For example, a 28" Lazy Daisy kidney set needs an opening at least 28" wide and 18-3/8" deep, and a 32" kidney set needs at least 32" wide and 22" deep. Rev-A-Shelf lists separate minimums for face frame and frameless cabinets, so check the specs against your cabinet type.

Posts, bearings and rotation

Single shelves mount to the cabinet floor on a post or a swivel bearing. Shelf sets mount on a post: a bottom-mount post is fixed, while a telescoping post mounts to the cabinet floor and ceiling and adjusts to fit (Rev-A-Shelf Lazy Daisy telescoping sets fit 26" to 31" interior heights). Choose dependent rotation if you want the shelves to turn together, or independent rotation to turn each shelf on its own. For tall wall cabinets, 3-shelf full circle sets are made for 33" to 36" and 39" to 42" high corner wall cabinets.

Replacement lazy susan shelves and hardware

Replacing a worn-out lazy susan? Shelves are sold on their own, with or without a center hole, along with bottom-mount posts, pie-cut hardware kits and steel or aluminum swivel bearings. A lazy susan bearing with stop returns kidney and D-shape shelves to the same starting position every time. See all lazy susan hardware and bearings.

Questions

What's the difference between a pie-cut and a kidney lazy susan?

A pie-cut lazy susan has the cabinet door mounted to its shelves, so the door turns with them. A kidney lazy susan is for corner cabinets with a hinged door and doesn't attach to the door at all.

What size lazy susan do I need for my corner cabinet?

Measure the inside width, depth and height of the cabinet opening, then pick a lazy susan whose minimum cabinet opening fits inside it. The shelf diameter can't be larger than the opening width. Telescoping sets also list the interior heights they fit.

Can I replace the lazy susan in my existing cabinet?

Usually. Kidney lazy susans don't attach to the door, and full circle and D-shape units mount on a post or bearing inside the cabinet, so a new one of the same shape can replace the old one if it fits the opening. Pie-cut units are harder to swap because the door is mounted to the shelves. You can also replace just the shelves, post or bearing.

What are the parts of a cabinet lazy susan?

The shelves (also called trays), a post that holds a shelf set, the hubs that attach the shelves to the post, and for single shelves, a swivel bearing. Bearings for kidney and D-shape shelves include a stop so the shelf ends in a position that lets the door close.
