Tambour Wood Panels

Tambour is a flexible wood panel made from narrow slats bonded to a backing, which lets a wood surface curve around columns, wrap reception desks and island fronts, and follow contours that a rigid panel can't.

We stock tambour sheets in red oak, cherry, maple, hickory, and alder, in veneer and solid wood construction. Standard sizes are 24" and 36" width, plus a 60" x 36" sheet for larger runs. Veneer sheets are the lighter, lower-cost option; solid wood gives you more depth and takes a stain finish the way a solid board does.

Tambour sheets are used for feature walls, wainscoting, ceiling detail, bar and island cladding, and cabinet faces. They install over a prepared substrate and can be stained or finished on site.

Tambour vs. fluted: fluted panels are milled into a rigid board and stay straight. Tambour is flexible and conforms to a curve. If your application has any radius, tambour is what you want.
