Shelf Pins & Cabinet Shelf Clips

Shelf pins and cabinet shelf clips hold adjustable shelves in cabinets, bookcases and closets. Each one plugs into a hole drilled in the cabinet side, so you can move a shelf up or down whenever you need to. Most cabinets use 5 mm or 1/4" holes, and we stock both sizes in a range of styles and finishes from brands like U.S. Futaba, Hardware Resources, Hettich and Knape & Vogt.

Shelf support pins

Straight shelf support pins in 5 mm and 1/4" diameters, in nickel, polished brass, black, antique brass and yellow zinc.

Shelf clips and brackets

Shelf support brackets give the shelf a flat seat to rest on. Choose 5 mm or 1/4" in nickel, antique brass, statuary bronze, polished brass or antique copper. Shelf supports with a vinyl cover come in the same two sizes.

Shelf lockdowns

Shelf lockdowns are sized by shelf thickness (1/2", 5/8" and 3/4") with a 1/4" or 5 mm shank.

Glass shelf supports

Hettich glass shelf supports have a 5 mm pin in nickel-plated die-cast zinc with a clear suction cup, and work with System 32 cabinets.

Grommets and standard clips

Finish the holes with grommets for shelf supports in 5 mm or 1/4". Using metal shelf standards instead of holes? Shelf standard clips come in aluminum, brass, walnut, zinc and white to match shelf standards.

Most supports are sold in multiples of 100 for cabinet shops. For wall shelves, see shelf brackets and supports.

Questions

How do I tell what size shelf pins I need?

Measure the diameter of the holes in the cabinet side. Most are 5 mm (common in European and System 32 cabinets) or 1/4". Take an old pin to compare if you have one.

What's the difference between shelf pins and shelf clips?

The names are used loosely. A pin is a straight peg the shelf sits on; a clip or bracket adds a flat seat or lip under the shelf. Both fit the same 5 mm or 1/4" holes.

How do I use cabinet shelf clips?

Push one clip into a hole at the same height at each of the four corners, then set the shelf on top. To move the shelf, lift it off and move the clips.

Do you have supports for glass shelves?

Yes. Our Hettich glass shelf supports use a 5 mm pin with a suction cup that grips the glass.
